Located in Biwabik, MN, Giants Ridge’s two public courses, The Quarry and The Legend, offer 18-hole, par 72 golf among a beautiful northwoods scene. Those looking to brush up their skills can take a one-hour clinic. The courses also offer dinner and golf packages for two.
Its courses are regularly ranked among the top public courses in the state by Golf Magazine, Golfweek, Golf Digest and others, but Giants Ridge offers more than just a summer golf getaway. It also offers 34 alpine ski and snowboard runs, a tubing park, Nordic ski trails and access to 2,000 miles of snowmobile trails, making the resort a year round destination.
While golfing is one of the main draws, the summer at Giants Ridge isn’t just for golfing. Giants Ridge also offers canoe and kayak rentals, bike rentals and indoor and outdoor swimming. For a slower pace make it a spa getaway at the in-house Aveda spa. Each Friday night, stop in to the Wacootah Grill for the walleye fish fry, or rib night on Saturdays.
In the winter, a full range of activities will fill your day, including sliding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and Nordic and alpine skiing. With 35 different downhill alpine ski runs and special snowboarding areas, Giants Ridge is one of the state’s best places for skiing and snowboarding. Rentals are available, including snowmobiles from nearby Rapid Rental, which can be delivered to the resort.
Stay at the Lodge or the Villas – both offer ski-in, ski-out accommodations. Suites at the Lodge include fireplaces and kitchenettes. Lakeside Villas include bedrooms, in-room washer and dryer and kitchens. On site, visit the pool and spa, tennis courts, basketball and sand volleyball courts, playground, beach and lighted path around the lake.
On-site restaurants, lounge and spa allow you to unwind after a day of outdoor fun.

Getting There:
Giants Ridge is about 3.5 hours from the Twin Cities and 1.5 hours from Duluth. From Hwy 35, take hwy 33 through Cloquet to Hwy 53. From Hwy 53, take Hwy 37 east just south of Eveleth, then 135. Continue until you see the Giant’s Ridge signs.

Plan an afternoon – or a day – to enjoy local Iron Range history. In nearby Eveleth, visit the World’s Largest Hockey Stick and the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. The Minnesota Discovery Center in Chisholm showcases Iron Range history with exhibits and rides on a vintage trolley through a former mine. In Hibbing, view the world’s largest open pit iron ore mile at Hull Rust Mahoning Mine. Or visit the state’s first mine, Sudan Underground Mine near Tower.
