Winter in the City of St. Paul, MN's Winter Skate: “You’ve come to where the excitement is,” said Bill, a staff member at the Wells Fargo Winter Skate Rink and a member of the St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department.

Skaters circled the rink on a sunny day, stopping only for a moment to get a cup of hot chocolate in the warming tent.

“This has really become a favorite downtown wintertime activity,” said Bill as he helped a skater off of the ice. “We’re open during the holiday season, New Year’s and the Winter Carnival, so it’s become part of our winter tradition in downtown St. Paul.”

The rink has become a favorite spot for youth hockey teams, guests at the nearby St. Paul Hotel, and even NBC, which has rented out the rink during NHL games. Open through February, it offers guests a great way to enjoy winter in the city.
