Fun for Every Member of the Family: Planning a romantic getaway or a family vacation isn’t easy when you have to please different tastes. “Our championship 18-hole golf course is a favorite for golfers of all abilities. Plus, the Minnesota Golf Trail connects the Northwest region of the state with nine different courses,” said Nicole. “Each course brings different scenery, challenging holes and beautiful clubhouses. A full golf pro-shop is available on site at Thumper Pond Resort to help guests gear up for the game. Or relax inside with a drink at the full bar after an afternoon game.

Beyond golfing though, the resort will offer one of the top indoor waterparks in the region – complete with a Northwoods themed lazy river.

The water park will offer water features for all ages. A three-story slide twists inside and outside of the park, while a beach entry pool; toddler slide and water geysers offer fun for children. Adults will enjoy two basketball hoops and an activity pool, plus the winding lazy river and 18-person whirlpool featuring a waterfall.

“Inside the waterpark, a snack bar and arcade allow families to stay in the park all day long,” said Nicole. “The park will be open all year and will likely become a favorite getaway in the winter and during spring break.”

You’ll find plenty to do at the resort, and those wanting to get out and explore the region will enjoy access to area lakes including the 13,700 acre Otter Tail Lake, a top walleye fishing spot. Rent a boat nearby to enjoy the lake, or one of numerous other lakes in the area.

Afterward, head back to Willy T’s Tavern and Grill at Thumper Pond Resort. The new restaurant features an American menu, with sandwiches and salads, burgers, and brick-oven pizza. Steak, ribs, pot roast and chicken are favorites, and you can’t go wrong with the Northwoods walleye dinner.

“The newly renovated restaurant offers casual dining, plus a full bar to relax after a day on the course,” said Nicole.

Though there’s plenty to do spring through fall, don’t forget to come back during the winter for top snow activities.

“In the winter, we offer cross country skiing and snowshoe trails, and we’re connected to more than 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails right from our parking lot,” said Nicole. “And of course, the water park will offer a favorite come the winter months.”
