lighthouse harbors spectular views in the winter.
Once the center of Duluth’s warehouse district, today Canal Park is a central destination in the city for shopping, dining and walking along the lake. In recent years, hotel options have expanded. At the edge of the Canal Park district, Canal Park Lodge opened in 2007 to offer guests a modern northwoods feel overlooking the lake and just steps from the district’s main attractions.
Entering the Lodge’s grand entrance with its large stone fireplace gives a welcoming feel year round. A hot breakfast is served daily at one end of the large lobby, including scrambled eggs, omelets, sausage, Belgian waffles, Caribou Coffee and other items. In the evening, the lobby opens as a cash bar with complimentary appetizers. Or have a drink by the lake at the Lakeside Lobby.
The Lodge’s 116 modern rooms offer a range of options including LCD TVs, refrigerators and microwaves, in-room Jacuzzi and decks overlooking the lake. Step outside for a walk along Duluth’s famous 4.2 mile Lake Walk, or head further down the canal and you’ll be just steps away from the galleries and restaurants.
